Who we are

Sweatbox started when two old mates, Gary and Daniel, had an idea.

When you train in boxing, Muay Thai or any of the martial arts, you get sweaty. Like real sweaty.

Like sweaty Betty.

They thought it would be a great idea to buy a sweat band, big enough to slide over the cuff of your boxing glove.

That way it would give the boxer somewhere to wipe their hard-earned sweat, protect the expensive glove, and provide extra support for the wrist. It would also prevent ‘velcro burn’ when clinching and you could even use laced gloves for sparring by tucking the laces into the sweatband.

But guess what? no company made them big enough.

So, they got to work and made their own and Sweatbox was born.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best.

Gary and Daniel have a passion and experience toward supporting young people, working in a school environment with at-risk and troubled youths. Their approach is grounded in understanding, mentorship, and the belief that early intervention can change lives. They started an in-school Muay Thai program that over 80 students are currently regularly involved in.

They both share a deep-rooted passion for martial arts. They credit the discipline, focus, and mental resilience it has instilled in them as crucial tools throughout their careers.

Looking to the future, Gary and Daniel are driven by a shared vision—to sponsor and mentor disadvantaged youth through martial arts programs. So many kids cannot afford to train and martial arts offers more than self-defence; it builds confidence, respect, and a strong sense of purpose—qualities many young people desperately need.

With their unique blend of lived experience, empathy, and drive, Gary and Daniel are committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people, both inside and outside the classroom.

So when you buy a product from Sweatbox, not only are you more comfortable when training, but you are helping to make a difference.
